....She's still asleep though. She was revived yesterday for a short while but the doctors wanted to put her under again just to give her more time to heal. While she was awake she did nod her head when we told her she was in the ICU. But she was in and out and the time was brief. Memorable though.
I won't say there haven't been scary moments in ICU, but all in all she is doing well. When I say scary moments I mean for us as parents. The nurses and doctors have never looked panicked---in fact once they are done they are quick to explain the procedure and what and why they were doing it. So far they are very pleased with Allie's progress and almost every procedure has not been out of the ordinary.
Last night the nurses fixed up Allie's hair in French braids and did her nails. She looks great in them. Fran and I get to help the nurses by helping them move her around. Uncle Tim, my brother is here, and my Mom. They'll get to see her when she wakes up.
....which will be soon actually because she's starting to stir a bit. She might not wake for quite a while though, but when she does we are instructed to remind her of where she is and that she's had her transplant, why we are wearing masks, what all the tubes are, etc....simple stuff to help her remember and to settle her anxiety.
Well time to tee up Taylor Swift on the MP3....talk to you later.
