Allison"s breathing tube is out

Late this evening the doctors agreed that Allison's breathing tube could come out. To us it's a milestone because she is breathing on her own---a real sign of progress. Tomorrow they will see about letting her dangle her feet off the side of the bed which also means sitting up and finding your balance.

So we are still making progress. This pace she is on is not abnormal. Many pediatric heart transplant patients spend about 10 days in ICU, some even less. But it is exciting to see each days progress.

    Allie,
No one can dispute, you do have the heart of a warrior. We were so proud of you, walking in to get your new heart. You have demonstrated the Warrior spirit in a way that encourages Warriors all over the world, to understand that it is not what happens to you that matters, but what you do with what happens.
