Hello! I found my way here from Kate Cary's blog as I am a fellow warriors fan.
I'm very happy your doing well as this last update says and you inspired me to make a picture for you. I hope you like it and my prayers are with you and your family.
This is a site focused on keeping family and friends up to date on Allison's progress as she begins her fight against heart disease.
You might be wondering why we chose this name for the blog: "Heart of a Warrior." The heart part is easy, Allison has heart problems. The Warrior part, though has special meaning. Yes, Allison is a fighter. She might not look big on the outside but she has has a lot of fight in her. Anyone who has ever sat with her at the dinner table can attest to that---especially when we are trying to get her to eat vegetables!.
The word Warrior has a special place in Allison's world. She is absolutely in love with the Warrior series of books about clans of cats. She's read every book---I'm thinking there are at least 20---and she's started at least 2 web sites that we know of (I'll find the link and post it here once she tells me what it is).
So, "Heart of a Warrior" is the name of this blog and its more than appropos. Our only disclaimer is that we did not clear this name with Allie, and it might turn out to be so uncool, the way Bruce Springsteen is an old guy to 12 year olds, that we might have to change the name, once she finds out about it.
But like we said, this blog's intention is to keep family and friend up to date on what is happening with Allie, with Fran, Emma, Grace and me. We know we have a lot of support from family, friends and neighbors, church and work because we hear them across this blog and in our hearts. Please keep us in your prayers and visit here to get updates.
Your pictures speak a thousand words!! I am sure you will all treasure this Mother's Day. God is GREAT.
